In her professional experience in Housing and Residence Life, she has developed a strong record of building high-performing teams that meet and often exceed indicators of success in engagement and student support. Her student-centered approach is grounded in cultivating a sense of belonging, connecting residents to engagement opportunities and resources, and providing individualized support and follow-up to residents of concern.

Uyi has been a panelist on many platforms centered on women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, business, and wellness. She has also facilitated numerous sessions, trainings, and workshops focusing on housing and residence life, leadership development, and other topics pertaining to the college student experience. In summary, she is passionate about building community, developing future leaders, and establishing a welcoming and inclusive space of different identities and perspectives.

She founded Queen ReDefined LLC, a motivational platform for Black women to focus on the importance of self-worth and self-respect. She is the Co-Creator of The Coco Drip LLC,  an event that brings Black Women-Owned businesses and owners together in a shared space created by Black women. Uyi also serves as a business/marketing consultant for new entrepreneurs and small businesses, working with them to achieve their individual and business/organizational goals.

Outside of her entrepreneurial pursuits, she is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and serves in her community in various capacities. Most importantly, she is a child of God and lives faithfully with an understanding of 1 Corinthians 14:33 - For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. She enjoys the arts, working with the youth, trying different cuisines, and engaging in physical activity. Her favorite quotation is, “I believe luck is preparation for meeting opportunities. If you haven’t been prepared when the opportunity came along, you wouldn’t have been lucky.” - Oprah Winfrey
